F Major is a 4 String Chord. To play F Major Chord.

  1. With your Index Finger on First Fret, press down First String and Second String.
  2. Place your Middle Finger on Second Fret, Third String.
  3. Place your Ring Finger on Third Fret, Fourth String.

Fifth and Sixth Strings are not played in F Major Chord

This version of the major chord is widely used by guitar players. It adds the C note in the bass.

F Major is a 5 String Chord. To play F Major Chord.

  1. With your Index Finger on First Fret, press down First String and Second String.

  3. Place your Ring Finger on Third Fret, Fifth String.
  4. Place your Pinky Finger on Third Fret, Fourth String.

How To Practice F Major Chord On Guitar

To practice F Major Chord, Start at a slow tempo and play downstrokes on the first beat of every bar. Then add another downstroke at the third beat of every bar. Now you play a downstroke on the 1st and 3rd beat of every bar. After this, play a downstroke on all the four beats of a bar.
